Arnošt (Ernest) the Boar

The wild boar has featured as a symbol of strength and courage in human culture since prehistoric times. The heroes of the ancient epics would prove their grit by fighting a dangerous boar. In mythology, the gods were often accompanied by a boar. The boar symbol can be found on the coats of arms of the aristocracy and towns, especially in Germany, Belgium, England and Italy. This boar sculpture, made with fine white porcelain and hand-decorated with gold or platinum, is another small piece from the workshop of Atelier JM Lesov’s master sculptor Kamil Ježek.
